Life survives within the biosphere of Planet Earth that develops with changing planetary cycles over geological ages. Physical and cultural evolutions are driven by myriad factors addressed in texts, geometries and mathematics by advanced worldwide pyramid builders in the ancient world. Humanity's earliest ancestors periodically return and offer new releases of information that updates older traditions. The Maya and the Chinese both possessed pyramids and sacred sciences anciently endowed by legendary teachers and adepts. Key information has been modernly discovered in the earliest Mayan and Chinese calendars.

The I Ching was the earliest writing system in China and was tied to a lunar calendar. It first appeared between 4,200 and 4,400 years ago. The date of I Ching's beginning in China coincides with a 4,306-year cycle that Terence McKenna found by using fractal mathematics to extrapolate the I Ching with Timewave Zero. November 2012 is the end of the timewave that began 4,306 years ago coincident with the I Ching's appearance in China. The Timewave closely aligns with trends in human history, and its structure parallels DNA and morphogenics. The Judaic patriarch Abraham's birth in approximately 2200 BCE and his metaphorically fathering the 12 tribes of Israel by way of Isaac and Jacob further identifies this period with key morphogenic changes.

Morphogenesis is "the development of form and structure in an organism during its growth from embryo to adult." (English Collins Dictionary.) Planetary conditions were radically different during past epochs. In the epoch of the dinosaurs, plants and animals were relatively larger than at present. Solar activity was higher. These differences resulted in differing morphogenetic factoring in which the innate intelligence of species seek survival. Human skulls at least 700,000 years old discovered at Boskop, Africa were comparable to modern humanity but not the same. The morphogenic field continues to change in cycles, and Timewave Zero appears to reflect these changing cycles.

Timewave Zero reflects cycles of novelty or creativity in the morphogenic field that may prove to be the basis of the collective unconscious. Based on the Chinese I Ching, Timewave Zero models change cycles in biological time. I Ching literally means Book of Changes. It centered in the dynamic balance of opposites, the evolution of events as a process, and acceptance of the inevitability of change. In his extrapolation of the I Ching with fractal mathematics for Timewave Zero, Terence McKenna found uncanny similarities with human DNA.

The search for origins of human life hurtled into the Space Age when Francis Crick and James Watson discovered the DNA molecule in 1953. A Nobel laureate, Crick speculated that life on earth evolved from a single external source to explain the consistency of the genetic code universal to all organisms. It appeared to Crick as though earth had been deliberately seeded by an extraterrestrial civilization, proposed in his theory Panspermia. Crick's early theory of Panspermia developed into Astrobiology that NASA is presently exploring in a 20-year project that started in 1998.

In developing Timewave Zero with fractal mathematics, Mckenna found an extraordinary coincidence within the timewave graph generated with King Wen that reversed and mirrored itself. This internal pattern within the graph suggested to McKenna that the King Wen I Ching sequence was a profoundly artificial pattern. The constructed uniformity of the sequence is comparably improbable as the consistency of DNA that prompted Crick to posit an external source for DNA.

“The question remains as to what rule or principle governs the arrangement of the 32 pairs of hexagrams comprising the King Wen sequence. My intuition was to look at the first order of difference, that is, how many lines change as one moves through the Kin Wen sequence from one hexagram to the next…

“In addition when the first order of difference of the King Wen sequence is graphed it appears random or unpredictable. However when an image of the graph is rotated 180 degrees within the plane and superimposed upon itself it is found to achieve closure at four adjacent points. 

“While this closure might logically be expected anywhere in the sequence it in fact occurs at the conventional beginning and end of the sequence. While an arrangement with closure might have placed any two hexagrams opposite each other what we in fact find is that the hexagrams opposite each other are such that the numbers of their positions in the King Wen sequence when summed is always equal to 64. 

“Over 27,000 hexagram sequences were randomly generated by computer, all sequences having the property possessed by the King Wen sequence that every second hexagram is either the inverse or the complement of its predecessor. Of these 27,000+ sequences only four were found to have the three properties of a 3/1 ratio of even to odd transitions, no transitions of value 5 and the type of closure described above. Such sequences were found to be very rare, occurring in a ratio of 1 in 6750.

“For these reasons I was led to view the King Wen sequence as a profoundly artificial arrangement of the 64 hexagrams. Look carefully at Figure 1… Review in your mind the steps from the King Wen sequence that led to it. Notice that it is the complete set of 64 hexagrams, running both forward and backward. Since it is composed of 64 hexagrams of six lines each it is composed of 6*64 or 384 lines or “yao”. One might make an analogy and say that Figure 1 is to the King Wen sequence as a cube is to a square. Figure 1 is composed of the same elements as the King Wen sequence but it has more dimensions.” (Timewave Zero Advanced Version, Terence McKenna)

The creative impulse of novelty in Timewave Zero -- expansion in the morphogenic field -- reaches a peak in November 2012. This date corresponds with the enigmatic end of the Mayan Long Count on December 21, 2012, which TimeStar posits is the end of an extraterrestrial treaty that corresponds with cyclic changes in the morphogenic field of Earth.

Arguelles introduced Dreamspell glyphs shown above in The Mayan Factor. Dreamspell glyphs are stylizations of the 20 glyphs used in the Human Calendar throughout Native America.

In 2012 the creative impulse of novelty in Timewave Zero brings the morphogenic field to the beginning of a new cycle and an end of history as we have known it for a 4,406-year period, the cycle that ends in 2012. This new cycle is specific to the morphogenic field of physical species and the physical mind as the Earth mind influences it. A wave graph noting key dates is shown below. 

McKenna believed that peaks on the graph indicated periods of habit when history repeats itself, while dips pointed to periods of novelty when new ideas and inventions were introduced. The uncanny parallels between Timewave Zero graphs and periods of evolution in humankind and civilization were so intriguing that I went back to the timewave in efforts to understand it for seven years, until the peak of habit on September 11, 2001 pointed to the historical trend that humankind has been dominant in human history for about 5,000 years. 

The Mayan long count began 5,125 years ago, Upper and Lower Egypt were unified in 3110 BCE, and Krishna lived and taught in 3102 years ago. Habit peaks for the last time in this cycle in August 2008 then collapses into novelty that gives birth to a new cycle in 2012. 

Proofs for this non-Western theory are that I have consistently predicted events driven by physical mind and force with it. I predicted the date for the USA's invasion of Iraq four months before the attack using Timewave Zero cycles, which indicated December 2002 through March 2003 would be a period of high historical stability. In fall 2002, six months before the attack, TimeStar forecast that an invasion of Iraq would most likely occur in April 2003. The Timewave Zero graph began climbing to a high in habit that was seen in September 2001 when vengeance from one side or the other was likely. September 11, 2001 had been such a period when the Muslim extremists bombed the World Trade Center. December 2003 was also a period when history repeated itself and Israel took renewed action against Palestine. 

The idea of collective consciousness is generally interpreted in broad strokes of archetypes. Yet trends in historical events when viewed through the lens of retrospection seem evident. The thirst for human liberties that began with the French Revolution and drove the American Revolution marked a trend in collective consciousness. The Dark Ages when centers of knowledge were destroyed around the world and the flowering of the Renaissance that affected the entire globe are long-term trends in collective consciousness that seemed to have touched all humanity. The sense of collective consciousness is almost always intuitive, which is only as clear as the individual sensing the intuition. 

The problem with novelty is that it is novel, new, and unpredicted. This makes novelty difficult to predict and potentially dangerous. Habit just repeats history and is relatively easy to predict.
